Hi! Thank you for stopping by to visit! My name is Kerri and I started blogging in 2009 when my second daughter was born. Since then I have returned to teaching full time in the classroom but I still have a passion for blogging.

Ginger Betty's

Ginger Betty's is a bakery just south of Boston and it is truly a magical place.

I took my daughters there this week to decorate gingerbread cookies and I think I had just as much fun as they did!

I have lived in the Boston area my whole life and had never heard of this bakery until a friend told me about it last year.

It is decorated like so cute and everything looks yummy. And they sell ice coffee!

It is certainly going to be on our list of things to do again this summer!

A New Adventure!

A few posts ago I mentioned how I had several passions/business adventures I would like to pursue.

I am excited to announce my newest adventure!

Fairytales and Treasures!

Fairytales and Treasures actually was born 4 years ago after my oldest daughter was born. I have experience in the children's party business and I thought it would be fun to have my own business.

But soon after I found out I was pregnant with daughter number two and the fact that liability insurance was going to be a huge factor, it got put aside.

After watching the Royal Wedding and realizing that Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge's(I really like calling her that!) mom, Carole Middleton, started a children's party business back in the late 1980's really put everything into perpspective for me.

And so I am opening a new shop on Etsy and starting a new business blog that will focus on handmade tutus, fairy wands and a few things for boys too.

So if you have a little princess or pirate or cowboy in your life, I hope you visit my new shop when it opens.

The Royal Wedding

Isn't it every girl's dream to one day be a princess?

I remember as a little girl watching Princess Diana's wedding with my mom and I was totally smitten.

I immediately fell in love with this shy beautiful Princess.

I loved seeing photos of her through the years.

And hearing about all of the wonderful charity work she did.

Although she died young, Princess Diana lived a full life.

It is no wonder so many of us keep her alive in our hearts.

And now her little boys are all grown up and getting married.

Do you agree with me that Will has not only gotten Diana's good looks but charming personality too?

Just as I remember waking up early to celebrate a young girl become a princess; I remember all too well waking up early to watch her farewell.

I think Will has chosen the perfect princess and I am looking forward to watching a bit of history on Friday.

Will you be watching?

Follow Your Passion

Are you following your passion(s)?

Are you a dreamer like me?

I have so many things I would like to do. And I do not like to admit it, but I always have the same excuse. Not enough time.

I always felt like I could only follow ONE passion.

Silly me.

I have decided that the new me is going to follow ALL of them.

Big AND small.

One of my passions is to have my own upscale consignment shop some day.

Another would be to write a book. A children's Spanish book or even a cookbook.

But for now, I am going to start making girls' barrettes and headbands.

I am planning to close my vintage shop on Etsy and open a handmade one for girls' hair items and a few other girly things!

Thanks for listening! My mind has been all over the place lately and I have not posted because I knew it would be a scatterbrained post!

Happy Weekend!

Pumpkin Scone "Recipea"

Photo courtesy of Peas and Thank You

One of my favoite food blogs is Peas and Thank You.

This blog has the yummiest recipes.

Last night I made these delicious Pumpkin Scones.

To say they are delicious is an understatement.

I substituted the whole wheat pastry flour for Gluten free flour and they were perfect.

***I apologize for the lack of a link to her blog. I tried adding it and for some reason it is not showing up***

New Foodie Love

I have a confession to make. I am not a great chef.

However, I do like to eat healthy, unprocessed foods.

And I enjoy reading food blogs.

I just get turned off when the number of ingredients in a recipe is long.

Recently I have found two sites I wanted to share with you.

The first is a blog, www.rainforestgurl.blogspot.com. She is a vegetarian, and what I love about the blog is she posts pictures and you can get great meal ideas without long complicated recipes.

The second is a new show I discovered while running on the treadmill. 5 Ingredient Fix with Claire Robinson. 5 ingredients. So simple. I love that.

If you enjoy healthy, quick and simple ideas, I strongly suggest you check these out!

Pink Polka Dots

It is hard to believe my baby will be two in June!

Of course the wheels have been turning as I have been thinking about a theme for her party!

She loves Dora, but my oldest daughter had a Dora theme for her second party so I don't want to repeat that.

And then I remembered. Her first love.

Dotty.

Her pink polka dot stuffed animal.

And so the theme will be just that! Dotty and all things with pink polka dots!

I posted a picture of Dotty and a picture of a cake I found online.
